Behind the intro and outro music
In April 2025, the Secretary of State held a contest for high school students in New Hampshire to find the perfect musical composition to ground the intro and conclusion of the podcast. Compositions were judged based on their originality and connection to the themes of the podcast.
After reviewing the submissions, Secretary Scanlan decided to select two scores: one to introduce the podcast, and the second to close the podcast. The winning score selected to introduce the podcast was composed by Liz McCormack, an 11th grader at Concord High School. The winning score selected to close the podcast was composed by four students from the Plymouth Regional High School Jazz Combo. They are Mia Simpson, a 12th grader playing bass; Gabe Goldman, an 11th grader playing guitar; Jackson Bouchard, an 11th grader playing drums; and Daniel Richard, a 10th grader playing piano.
All podcast episodes are produced in cooperation with Concord TV.
