On October 31, 2007 the Governor and Executive Council issued a  precept to have a special election for State Representative from :

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY DISTRICT NO. 7 (Goffstown, Weare)

Representative-elect Hopper was sworn into office by the Governor and Executive Council on March 17, 2008.
